World record attempt at ID.TREFFEN 2025.
On Thursday 11. Sept., we will face a very special challenge at ID.TREFFEN 2025:
We are attempting an official world record on the historic Tremola Pass road.
The record is:
Longest electric car convoy of a single brand on a serpentine mountain pass road.
Each participant with their ID. will be part of this world record and, in case of success, will receive an official certificate. However, in order for the record to be recognized, certain rules must be followed.

The ID.COMMUNITY in Kassel got ready for Locarno. Now everyone is looking forward to traveling to Locarno in September.
The Fascination of Volkswagen ID.
Since 2020, the Volkswagen ID. family has been captivating people around the world. Many owners quickly developed a deep connection with their vehicles and built a community that continues to grow across Europe.
Daniel Ott, better known in the scene as Swordfish_EV, was a passionate VW Golf GTI and Golf R driver for many years. But in 2020, he made the switch to electric mobility with an ID.3. His enthusiasm for the new driving experience was so great that he immediately launched his own YouTube channel and started sharing videos about his journey. The response was overwhelming: viewership grew rapidly, and Daniel decided to take things a step further by organizing an event for the growing ID. community.
Volkswagen noticed the initiative and supported the project. In 2021, the first-ever ID. Treffen took place – not, as some might expect, at Wörthersee, but instead at the beautiful Lago Maggiore in Locarno.
In its first year, the event mainly attracted German-speaking participants, but it has grown year after year. Today, every September, ID. drivers from all across Europe come together at Lago Maggiore to celebrate the fascination of Volkswagen ID.
Of course, the ID. Community is active online too on YouTube, Instagram, and many other platforms. But the true highlights are the in-person gatherings, especially the annual event in Locarno, which now spans a full five days and continues to thrill ID. fans year after year.
The future is electric.
At Volkswagen, a passionate electric community has formed in no time.

Just one year after the world premiere of the show car, Volkswagen is unveiling the limited special edition of the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE: featuring an extremely dynamic powertrain, exclusive paint finish, and numerous design highlights. The model was developed in collaboration with performance sportswear brand BOGNER FIRE+ICE, part of the Munich-based luxury sports fashion company BOGNER – just like the legendary Golf II Fire and Ice, which became a surprise success in the 1990s and has since achieved cult status among fans.

The Volkswagen ID. EVERY1 has been very well received by the ID. Community. Excitement is already building and we are eagerly awaiting the final production version!
ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE Show-Car
The ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE celebrated its world premiere at the ID. TREFFEN 2024 in Locarno –and the ID. Community was thrilled. Now we’re hoping that Volkswagen will bring something like it to market!
ID.GTI Concept
The ID. GTI Concept is truly something very special for the community! For decades, GTI has stood for driving pleasure, emotion, and a strong sense of togetherness within the Volkswagen world. The fact that the ID. GTI Concept had its first ID.Community debut at the ID. TREFFEN 2024 in Locarno sent a powerful message. Volkswagen’s new electric era remains deeply rooted in the traditions that once made events like the Wörthersee Treffen so iconic.
ID.7 X Performance
ID.7 X Performance: World Premiere at the ID.TREFFEN 2023
At the ID.TREFFEN 2023 in Locarno, the ID.7 X Performance celebrated its world premiere and immediately became the “Locarno Car” of the year. It wasn’t just the ID. Community that was excited: the international automotive press, present on-site, was also overwhelmed by the sporty design and impressive performance of the new ID. model.
Another clear sign that Locarno has become the stage for true highlights in electric mobility!
I would never buy a car with a combustion engine again.
I switched from a Volkswagen Passat Diesel to an ID.4 and since then, I’ve been absolutely thrilled and fascinated by my ID.4. The smooth driving experience, the fantastic chassis, and the impressive power, especially during acceleration, are simply outstanding. The low maintenance costs are another big plus. For me, there’s no going back!
